I bought the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones in black because the headphones supplied with my windows phone were of pretty mediocre quality, as is the case with most accessories that come with phones cell phones these days. . the sound was distorted and the “trumpet bell” design has never been to my liking as I find they droop a lot and have to constantly fiddle with them to get them to stay in a position that gives me optimal sound quality . also, when i had apple headphones, my dad bought me a pair of sennheiser headphones and he couldn’t believe the improvement in sound quality and comfort. I think they lasted me about five years before they broke, and I used them almost every day! therefore sennheiser seemed like the obvious choice for me and at just £14.99 it was definitely worth the risk.

the physical build quality
the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones are sold in a plastic box, although this packaging can be difficult to open, I recognize that it is probably the best option to ensure that the product is hygienic and has not been used by anyone while it was in display or before they were shipped. the sennheiser mx 375s were so well secured that i struggled to get them out myself, but i guess it’s reassuring to know they definitely wouldn’t be damaged in transit. The packaging clearly tells us that the Sennheiser MX 375 in-ear headphones are made for MP3, iPad, iPod, iPhone and portable media players. the website tells us that the sennheiser mx 375 are made in germany (where sennheiser originates from) or ireland.
the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones are made of matte black plastic and have smooth, shiny silver plastic strips on the back of the headphone “arms”. they look simple yet elegant. they are so comfortable to wear that the first time I wore them, I had to double check that I actually had them on correctly because I really couldn’t feel them! this is great for these types of in-ear headphones, as some brands tend to hurt your ears after a while. however, at 1.7cm in diameter, some people may find them quite large compared to the diameters of other brands’ earphones, and especially those with a “trumpet bell” design. the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones come with a 2-year warranty, so you can expect the hardware to last at least at least that long. like i said before, my previous pair of sennheisers lasted about 5 years with daily use.

The sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones came with a very stylish matte black leatherette drawstring case, which I love. the inside of the bag is a soft synthetic material. The bag proudly displays the Sennheiser logo on the front in shiny faux leather and has a sewn-in Sennheiser brand tag on the side. if i’m really going to part hairs, the tough outer material means the black drawstring cord struggles to wrinkle the top of the bag altogether. still, I think the chance of the headphones falling out of the bag is pretty much nil. The Sennheiser MX 375 in-ear headphones also come with 2 foam ear cushions, further enhancing comfort. It took me about 5 minutes to put the pads on. Although it seemed like a long struggle just to put on some ear pads, he assured me that they wouldn’t fall out in my bag or in my ears!
As these are the equivalent of a budget pair of headphones, the cable of course can’t be unplugged, but at £14.99 you wouldn’t be heartbroken when they finally wear out at that low price.
what do they sound like
the mx 375 are not audiophile quality, finding a solid set of audiophile headphones can be a really difficult task. Sennheiser MX 375 in-ear headphones have a frequency response of 18-22000Hz, a sound pressure level of 122dB, and total harmonic distortion of less than 1%. the size of the jack connector is 3.5 mm and the y-cable is 1.2 m.

the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones have great clarity. bass quality appears to be a selling point for the sennheiser mx 375, with the box instructing the consumer to “turn the bass up!” the bass is strong without being overbearing, it’s very powerful and clean, and when I cranked the sound up to the max, there was virtually no distortion in the mids and highs. NB. It is not recommended to turn the music volume all the way up as it may damage your hearing and your equipment. i think my favorite thing about the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones is that they bring out the subtleties in music and pick up instruments and other background sounds that i couldn’t hear with standard headphones, even on songs i know like the back of my hand. furthermore, no burning was required. however, one of the weaknesses of the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones is that there is a noticeable amount of sound loss which i noticed when my partner, dan, was trying them out, and i was even able to make out all the song lyrics.
daily use
The sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones are suitable for everyday use rather than just sitting around in the living room. I listen to my music mainly while walking. they don’t cancel out the sounds of the surrounding environment, which I think is much better for safety reasons when walking, especially if it’s dark. to my delight, there is no “wind” sound if the cord brushes against your clothing.
the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones don’t have in-line controls or a mic, but I think, at £14.99, that’s to be expected.
the conclusion
You can buy the Sennheiser MX 375 in-ear headphones direct from the Sennheiser online store for £14.99 or from Amazon for £9.99. For £14.99 or £9.99, I think the Sennheiser MX 375 in-ear headphones are excellent value for money as the sound is excellent and they are comfortable and stylish. of course you can buy much higher quality headphones and earphones than these but at a fairly high price there is very little else in this price range to compete with the sennheiser mx 375 in-ear headphones. in future models i hope sennheiser can reduce the problem of sound leakage, as this could be annoying to people around you if you are on public transportation. All in all, if you’re looking for a solid pair of headphones at a budget price, you can’t go wrong with the Sennheiser MX 375 in-ear headphones.
